Educator-Engineer Partnership Award
Nominations due to IEEE-USA by July
31, 2012
If
any of our Hawaii Section members are working with an educator on a STEM Outreach project,
please let us know so we can consider nominating them for the
IEEE-USA Precollege Educator-Engineer
Partnership 2013 Award
The
2012 award was won by a Mani Moro, a member of the Oregon section, and Ryan
Harvey, a science teacher at Cascade Heights Public Charter School, for a STEM
Outreach program that they have developed.
The purpose of the award is to recognize collaborative
activities between K-12 educators and technical professionals who are IEEE
members.
The
award winner(s) will receive a plaque providing the citation for the award.
IEEE-USA will recognize the award winners during an award ceremony at a time
and venue mutually agreed by the IEEE-USA and the recipients. (Usually this is the IEEE-USA meeting which
will be held in Portland, OR, in spring 2013.)
The winners also receive funding for travel expenses (up to $1,000 each)
to attend the award ceremony.
Contact john.camery@ieee.org for further information.
The deadline has been extended to August 31, 2012.
