1. New Members in the Hawaii Section


We extend a hearty welcome to new members of the Hawaii Section:

2. Chapter Update


UH Manoa Student Branch members won 3rd place in the 2013
International Contest of Application in Nano-Micro Technology (iCAN)
in Barcelona. Their project, the Vital Baby Monitor System, combined
wearable sensors and a wireless control system with the goal of
reducing infant mortality due to SIDS.

Congratulations to the students and their faculty advisor!

December 16-18 IEEE SOCA 2013 Conference at Poipu Beach, Kauai

IEEE International Conference on Service Oriented Computing &
Applications (SOCA 2013) provides an international forum for
researchers from multiple disciplines to exchange and share their
