November EXCOM Meeting

Minutes: 

We discussed plans for future meetings and ideas for revitalizing the section and chapters such as hosting conferences and working with local organizations.  Dave Morse is working on setting up a Computer Society Chapter meeting at Castle High School. Doug Zuckerman gave Al Toda contact information for Sonny Bhagowalla, the State of the Hawaii CIO. Al said he would provide Dave with the information so he could let Sonny know about our activities with the students. The chair will invite Song Choi to give a talk on underwater water robotics at a future meeting.  Grant Torigoe is helping to coordinate the scheduling of the Business Card Exchange.  We are still looking for a slate of candidates for Computer Society Election next month.  We discussed requirements for the elections. Eran Agmon expressed interest in acting as a liaison between the Hawaii Section with industry. Finally, Eduard Tavares of Verizon gave a talk on cell phone technology for the Communication Society / Sig. Proc. Society Chapter.
