Hawaii Section Goals 2012-2013


What are your passions in life?  What would you like to achieve by joining forces with others in our professional society?  Let us know.  Add your goals to ours and help find others willing to work toward these same ends.  We are holding a special meeting April 9, 2012 to focus on this.  See our March newsletter for details.


Vision: Empowering Members to Create the Future. IEEE – Advancing Technology for Humanity

Background: We have 611 members in the Hawaii Section. Each Chapter/Affinity Group is required to hold and report a minimum of two (2) meetings annually to be considered active (and be included in the Section's Rebate). 

Goals:

  • Host an IEEE Humanitarian Conference on Oahu
  • Revitalize the Computer Society Chapter
  • Revitalize the Communications Society Chapter
  • Establish a WIE affiliate group
  • Establish a life member affiliate group
  • Establish a Special Interest Group in Humanitarian Technology (Sight)
  • Organize additional Student branches.
  • Co-sponsor programs with other professional/technical organizations.
  • Conduct periodic Senior Member elevation events.
